About us

Taking_it_in Write Now! is a writers' group based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England.

Membership is open to anyone in Bury or the surrounding area. We have a few rules and requirements, otherwise we are a friendly, well-established focus for practising writers in the area.

Prospective members can also be introduced by any current member, who must inform the group that a new writer wishes to join. Prospective members will be invited to attend one of our meetings.

Requirements of Membership

  • Members are actively encouraged to achieve publication of their work.
  • Members should aim to have a piece written for each meeting; using either the theme set at the previous meeting or a work in progress (details of the theme are here).
  • The theme is set to give each meeting a specific purpose and to aid discussion and learning. This contribution is an important part of the group's activity.
  • Members must be willing and prepared to read their own work and discuss it with the group. They should be prepared to give and receive criticism of their own and the work of others at every meeting.

Deep_in_thought

Full membership will require approval by a majority of current members.

If you are interested in joining, please phone or email George (01284 767734) or David (01284 747238) for more information.
